Gold Card

To be frank, most intellectual people understand that the US is a place of opportunities. I used to be there once for not too long, like just around 18 months, but I do believe that the US has its strengths, like if I ever want to find any books, I can always order them online and they come to my doorstep in minutes. So if you’re seeking knowledge, especially one written in English, the US is likely the place where you have the freedom to do or build whatever you want; it’s obviously the center of today’s world’s civilization. Even if comparing to China, another great civilization, these two countries are the only two civilizations that can bring to the table and are comparable to one another. But the problem is that China is isolated, I mean, how many foreign English speakers are compared to the Chinese counterpart? I double that Chinese foreign speakers or students can only be half of their English counterparts. What I mean is, US cultures and the English language are deeply interconnected and integrated with the rest of the world: everybody learn English and absorbs American cultures. Despite all the hates like wars and political cunning of America, we cannot, and will not ever be able to side with China completely, just because of how important the US is in today’s world.

Speaking about Gaza or Ukraine, we all know it’s a political game, where the US is policing the world. It seems so, without the US and the world order today, certainly be more world wars to come. Without a strong leader (as the US is right now), civilizations will be burned to ashes. Even if today’s world order favours American values, its people and legacy (benefiting generations to come), it has been maintaining growth for billions of people for many decades so far. The US not only has to maintain the world order, but also make sure it keeps the strategic points like the Middle East and the Pacific (where Iran, Russia, and China are challenging it). Those opponents of the US are like a test to make sure the US remains a qualified leader. It’s like every world leader can fall down just like sports players, like RF or Nadal, their prime is not going to last forever, despite the fact that they are GOAT. The US can be a GOAT just like the Roman Empire, but if it’s destabilized and rots from within, then it may face the same fade, and they have to let the position go to China.

China is doing things for the world too, despite the fact that they are not yet exposing too much to the world and not “blending”, they are not as immigration friendly as the US and EU, but they’re doing well in making their people’s lives better, their cities are thriving, and the quality of life is getting better with innovation like EV and clean energy and by far the greatest infrastructure (roads, bridges, railways) nowaday. They are also helping other countries in infrastructure buildings, urbanization, apartments/housing buildings, and sharing technologies and machinery to boost domestic production. They are also inviting innovation and a clean energy transition. On the other hand, America has long been doing great things, like the invention of the internet, connecting people with software platforms like social media, search engines, smartphones, AIs, and software in general. Basically, Americans were able to create the world on screen, a virtual world, and elevate human innovation, boosting the speed of learning and wisdom obtaining much faster than ever in history.

The greatest competition in today’s world is no longer in the EU but now is between the two sides of the Pacific Ocean. It’s likely to be one presenting China and one representing the rest of the world. Why the rest of the world? It’s simply because America, or the rest of the world, is deeply connected with one another. If you are questioning whoever on Earth, where do you want to migrate permanently beyond your country? China or the US? For sure, the US is the answer. Why? Simply, the Chinese language is far too difficult to learn, unless China is willing to use English as its second language and open its border (and jobs/business opportunities) for immigrants, then surely China could be a better place to go, as its infrastructure, housing, and living costs are much more affordable than in the US. The US is an old man, or at least, it’s growing old; its infrastructure is not keeping up with China already.

Speaking about the Gold Card, it’s a term that we heard from the Trump Administration. It seems like the current US Administration does all it can to refresh their pool of talents, make sure only great people coming in and assist in nation building, without talent people, it cannot keep it pace to compete with China, this is especially important points why I’m saying it’s “China vs the World”, because US is just showing how it’s willing to take in talents from anywhere in the world (even from China itself). Whoever has wealth and wisdom can come to the US (via Gold Card and H1-B visa) for work and opportunities. So it’s really a population cleansing where criminals are exported to the El Salvador prisons, and talent, helpful individuals are imported via H1-B and Gold Card.
