Why saving is important?

It’s not saving money, it’s health, time, and so on. But in this article, money is the main character. Why we are speaking about this? People are working and spending their life on earning a living from jobs, and do whatever they can do to earn a living. Living here is typically represented as anything that can be purchased by money, and hence, we are speaking about money. There are two purposes to work: first is to make our life meaningful, and second is to earn money to pay our living expenses, like rent, food, clothes, utilities, and so on. The word saving can be understood as management or utilization also.

Why is saving is important? It’s the word “saving” cannot show the whole picture. It’s about how to use the money wisely, and how to “invest” it correctly? It’s a fact that investing in education and health is not expensive. As long as it’s making you better in doing things then it’s good. For example, if you need to have a fun night outside, or you need to take a vacation to recover, then you should certainly do it. If you need to do your hair or get a nice shirt, then go ahead and do it. But if you overdo something like you are doing it for fun without planning and questioning or reasoning, then you’re probably doing it wrong. I heard a financial guru once tell me: that for you to feel safe and earn financial security, it’s mandatory to cut the costs rigorously – in other words, the basic rule is you have to spend less than your earnings. This sounds exactly similar to how the health and fitness guru once told me: for your body to achieve leanness, you have to cut the calories rigorously – or in other words, the basic rule is calories in less than calories out. If we can make this simple equation occur in daily life and as a habit, then you’re getting the surplus, and surplus means plentiful and wealthier.

Of course, it’s not simply an equation. There are ways to make things easier. (source: medium.com)

From my perspective, there is a bigger meaning of saving. If you are investing it in your 401K, gold, real estate, and anything it not only makes you feel financially safe and secure. It’s about not turning the Earth to its dooms. You see, the resources on Earth are fruitful and plentiful, but it’s not infinite. There is a limit on how much energy we can use. Gasoline and electricity are not unlimited, at least for a certain period. Therefore, saving means keeping the Earth operating in stable. You see, we are living in a time when humans are at peak civilization. We are utilizing our natural resources so well, we are using materials and produce machines that help us to automate stuff, and boost our productivity to the max. Look at all the factories with the robotics arm and the production chains operated by a few humans. Look at how a single farmer can produce enough food to feed thousands of lives. And yet, why do we still have a price tag for everything? Why can’t we just turn into a socialist economy right away?

The fact that economy, the word itself meaning the study of lack, at root it’s about managing resources. If the resources are infinite then we have nothing to manage. Therefore saving in this case is closely related to financial management. It’s all about how we can utilize our own resources. If you’re a talented, skilled member of society, you will earn a good living, if you do not, then you might face a more difficult life. So if you feel the lack of life’s convenience, then probably you need to study more and work harder to earn a better living. In the current society where everything working under economic rules, nonhard working men are living a difficult life. They might not have big houses or a supercar, but they can live through the days easily and without the fear of hunger, cold, or diseases.

Saving also required mental strength, mental training, and a desire for control. It requires knowledge building, a wisdom building. A smart person who knows things will do it right, an unwise man who does not know of it will do it wrong. Therefore, continuous learning is important to keep us civilized do the right thing, and avoid doing the wrong thing. By keep doing the right thing it’s keep our lives comfortable and without the fear of lacking basic necessities.
