Metaverse

A few years ago, maybe back in 2019, I thought the Metaverse was a thing that is visionary thing. Where people can live in the virtual world and feel alive. But I was wrong, people are still embracing real life; rather, people need real physical touch and face-to-face communication. This basic way of socializing has never faded and will always be a part of mankind. When I first saw Apple Vision, I was amazed by how much potential it has. For example, you can basically have quick access to information right in front of your eyes, without having to sit down, typing, and your screen real estate is maximized, basically, you’re wearing a giant monitor screen, just that alone makes me feel like everyone should buy one. But then, of course, people need to live in a mixed world between reality and the digital world, like people can spend most of their time looking at the pixel screen (like laptop, mobile phones and TV), but then, they still need to go out side and touch grass and feel the wind, you’re not going to stay in the digital world for 24/7. So wearing a machine on your head all the time is really inconvenient. Unless it size and weight of a normal pair of glasses, then I would think again, but with current technology advances so far, it’s hard to fit a powerful GPU chip and battery inside a thin-framed pair of glasses.

What I think could be the future is AI and robots. You know, where robots can move like humans, think like humans, and act like humans. A robots with a silicon skin that looks and feel exactly like a human, with facial expressions and able to rotate joints as flexible as a human (or even more), it can be used in industry or in practical daily life. It can help replace humans in heavy-duty jobs, working in dangerous, toxic environments. And AI can talk with humans and act as an advisor, providing information and summarizing our thoughts, assisting us with a better view so we can make better decisions. Other than that, AI and Robots just help us to think better and do more work. I just think of a day in the future where everybody can become engineers and scientists, focusing on innovation and finding/creating new things. Which makes a lot more sense, right? Any work that is repetitive and less creative, we can hand that to AI and robots to do.

China has already done a huge part of it; they produce very flexible robots that can move, balance. Just look at how it can dance and jump, and run, it’s amazing how far the Chinese can go in tech. Furthermore, they are able to create a manufacturing line that is fully automated, you can turn off the light, and at the end of the production line, perfect EVs are produced. Chinese, by far, are coming closer to the future than anyone else.

What Vietnam can really do, I mean, the Vietnamese are known for sure that technology is what drives human productivity and elevates human life to a more convenient and luxurious life. So it’s now the time when we stop investing in people doing low-cost jobs like hiring people for an assembly line. Investing in education and helping people become more capable is, nevertheless, the most important thing to do right now. Let everybody think like an engineer: to create a tool and automate the process. We should not just look into how to have a stable life, but we should look into a life where wealth is infinite: we shall focus on thinking more rather than staying back, staying behind, and relaxing. My love for building things has never stopped. I just think that it needs to be fed more with conditions: of love (connections), a healthy lifestyle.
