Hello, Quy here, again it’s 4 weeks of staying quiet, I haven’t posted anything yet online or even chatted or called with friends or family. It’s just a habit of mine being isolated and peaceful, I don’t feel like needing any attention or desire to seek one. This has been me for years since I was in childhood I have been acting that way. Anyway, I did some YouTube journeys and saw people in Japan dying alone, I wish I wouldn’t be like that because it seems miserable. At least for now, I’m still healthy physically and mentally and still have many purposes in life.
Anyway, as stated in the title, in the past two weeks or so from 26 July to 10 August, I think there is a recession going on because I invested in the stock markets both in Canada and Vietnam and occasionally listen to the news. I’m not sure Iranian government is going to launch an attack on Israel for retaliation or not, but if they do, it’s going to be a recession for sure since people are investing based on the news and the market mood is the people’s mood. It has been going down like crazy, my stock investment for SOXL (getting advice from a friend for that option), was going down like 47%, and I’m currently losing half of my money invested in that single stock. My overall bracket performance is going down around 12% in Canada for a single month of July and for my Vietnamese account is going down to 15% (but it has been like this for years),
I believe tech firms still due to an inevitable trend of life where people are going to invest heavily in improving the quality of life by automation, and automation means more lines of codes and more research papers, you know what I’m talking about an improvement in technology requires a lot of resources. I even think that with generative AI it’s going to be a future where most of the creative works can be “assisted” by robots (AI and robots are kind of the same thing, it’s just have different representations). So creative work here is like creating a new song, a new poem, a new photo or image, a literature article, fixing the grammar of my current blog post, or even a blog post that I’m currently writing. Of course, the initiative must be acted by a human, humans must give instructions to robots still for they can act the way we want. Right? The machine has a great ability to do repetitive work like a factory works, like Tesla Giga factory produces cars mostly with robot arms and it reduces human resources greatly. As a the results of implementing AI/robotics and automation in general are: better product quality with a more affordable price. For people who worry about getting a job, it’s the tax that the government collects from these AI factories is returned to the people in the form of higher education, it’s simply means that we have to do jobs that engineering and creating smarter things and maintain as well as operate the AI systems. In another form, we as humans are competing with our own inventions and trying to break the boundaries. I think I watched a short from Elon Musk quoting his words: if people stop inventing, learning, and developing their brains, civilization will collapse. Imagine that one day the robots do all the work for us and we have “nothing” to do, then we just eat, drink, play games, have fun, sleep, get high, and die. Do you think a civilization is going to survive where the whole society is living like that? not using our brains? and normally as how a muscle of our body works, if we don’t use it, it’s going to shrink. Our brains are going to shrink and for generations to come, each generation will get the smaller brain and we become more dumb. AI is not going to terminate humans, it’s our humans who terminate themselves.
Anyway, it’s the future prediction for the next generations to worry about, for my current existence I care about stock price, and yes, investment in technology in general is going to be a huge thing, especially information technology, since this field produces line of codes and designing and engineering new machines that bringing our humans society to utopia. But of course, we have to see which stocks to buy, I’m sure that Intel is being competed heavily and AMD, NVIDIA, and Apple Silicon can replace Intel soon since Intel is not investing enough in R&D and not yet finding a breakthrough that can attract the resources from everybody. Nevertheless, if it was a hype in tech and chips trend recently then it might be adjusted for a little bit.

Overall, real estate prices still going up, gold prices fluctuate but tend to go up, bitcoins are down, and stocks are down. My thought process is that if we have cash, keep it for now and wait for the right time, and it doesn’t matter much how much I earn from the stock market (I actually earn none for now), it’s the habit of living a modest life and saving money that matters the most.
