Today is 1st of July. It’s Canada Day, I’m happy that today is a very beautiful day and I feel very healthy as well, my weight right now is at 75.95KG, it’s the first time in a long time (like up to 4 years) that I have never see this digit on a scale. I wish my investment profile reaches such a positive number too, but I think that takes some effort to learn and time to scale. I have been thinking about a side project and a passive income for years but to take certain actions to make these vague goals into a reality might take time and dedication, to reach a certain goal I realize that there are a lot of small steps or goals before it: like you have to be good at your job already, be stable at your job and your income, have a good health, and by saying health I’m saying about both physical and mental.

TLDR: the below section is mostly articulating about my review on Stoicism, you might want to read it or not, but if you are interested in it, then go on.

If you’re not feeling like being able to fight things alone (but most of the time, you will), you will have trouble focusing in things and get depressed very soon, so for me, personally and I’m being frank with you here, living aboard alone is not easy, especially since you used to have a partner with you back in Vietnam and you like to be around with people, it’s not easy at all. But we have to adapt to it somehow, I mean everyone has to fight for their own survival, and no one lives a life for you, right? So like your mid-term exam, who is going to do it for you? your job interview, who is going to do it for you? I’m not encouraging isolation or discouraging teamwork, I’m saying about perfecting yourself and being a good individual, then you can think about how you can fit into a community. In fact, I’m already in several communities, I have a tennis club, ex-classmates, and ex-girlfriends to talk with (but I don’t), I have family back home and relatives, and I have housemates, but why do I choose to be alone? because as a matter of fact, most of my works are done as an individual and to be good at it I have to read documents, watch tutorials, and take courses myself, how can I do this kind of activity with others? no one is going to learn or do it for you, right?

Anyways, following Stoicism, it’s given the fact that no one is going to give a shit about you. You don’t need to adjust the attitude of others, be the one that you want to be around. Stop spending time and effort on things that you can control, and I’m speaking about controlling people’s attitudes toward you. Stoicism also tells you to focus on things that matter and stop wasting around or bullshitting around. Your thoughts should be only on what matters and whatever that makes you become a better person. If anyone criticizes you, it’s you to be selective on their comments, whether you think you can learn from it or discard it from your mind, don’t be bothered about it. Mastering stoicism is all about focusing on your internal soul, coping with hard things, and solving negative things with logical thinking and a calm mind: if you feel something that does not work for you, like a relationship: with a friend, a relative, a family member, a colleague, a boss or your wife or girlfriend or body friend, then you can decide to fix it or leave it. Don’t feel too harsh about things. Me, personally, I do have a list of people I don’t want to be around it, and god always gives you a choice to be around that person or avoid it, and I choose to avoid every time, if they try to reach me and bother me, I will kill them. That’s just my logical thinking, I don’t feel bothered about it at all. I mean even your worst enemy can be your friend someday, I still have an open mind about it, it really depends on the situation, you know.

Stoicism is for people with mystery and depressed life, I think changing a mindset by reading philosophy or going to church, might be better than drug abuse. Frankly speaking, I never thought that using Cocaine or heroin or getting drunk is better than reading stoicism, with critical thinking, I locally think it’s better for your health. Honestly, again, no one going to give a shit about you and you will only be on this Earth for a limited time, once you are dead, most likely life will just go on like normal. Let me ask you about this, do you know what your great grandparent’s favorite food is? do you know what they do when they are depressed? You don’t know, right? Yes, again, this is what Stocism saying, we are a tiny non-important element on this Earth, so be mindful, enjoy your current time, and very this moment while you are still on Earth. Stop suffering, it’s all your own creation of your mind.

I’m writing this article today to review some important notes that I learned from listening to Stocisim, you can look for audiobooks and YouTube videos, I don’t feel like I need to quote them here, because any search results on the Internet will always come down to the same idea that I mention earlier.
