So Rogers’s staff at the kiosk in the mall was telling me that I only have to pay 45 monthly for a new Samsung phone and the watch but she didn’t tell me that I have to pay a down payment of around 140 dollars an additional to it is the setup fee for the first month with the total of 152 dollars. The sum of my first month I have to pay is 292 dollars. After 2 years I will have to return the phone. The fact that, if I have no phone and no watch, and if I do want a Samsung phone and watch then this is probably a good deal for me. But I already have a phone and I want to use it with the Rogers line, all I was asking her was to provide me a phone plan for the watch, but she seems didn’t get it, all she was trying to do was to sell me the Samsung watch and the phone. How dumb is it? Therefore, today, May 18, I decided to go to Westdale Mall again to ask for a return, this took me 2 hours long, and she continued forcing me to keep the deal. Then I called Mr. L (the landlord) asking for advice and he told me that it was a good deal and I should keep it. But I decided to reject this deal anyway since this phone is not going to be used, and so is the watch. In the next 8 days, as she promised, if my first month I have to pay 152 dollars then I do it at all costs to get my money back. Rogers is doing anything it could to sell us the products that we don’t need, how stupid is this? This definitely seems like either a very good deal or a big scam. I was asking for a phone plan for my watch and now she gave me a phone and a watch of Samsung?
Besides that, I went for a haircut too and the haircut looks stupid. The staff at the barbershop was asking what I wanted my hair to look like, so I showed her a Justin Bieber picture, and then she cut the bald hair. Below is the picture of the hair that I want to cut

And here is how the haircut I had

Anyway, since I am new to the city I have to accept the fact that I will likely get things that are not as my expectation. It takes careful research and experience to know where is the good barbershop, what is the good phone plan, and so on. Too many unexpected events might occur. For example, my bike cost around 170 dollars, then a month later I saw the same bike for 90 dollars. But 170 dollars initial investment is not stopped at that, I also have to spend an extra 300 dollars on the bike accessories. It’s so easy to overspend in here, if we do not do the research ahead and just straight up buying things then you’re likely to have to spend more than that.
So after 2 hours standing at the phone booth with the Indian Rogers staff. And with the advice of the landlord, I have given up the process of returning the phone and the watch. I’ve then moved to the Planet Fitness nearby to try out the one-day free membership. The facilities here are not very sufficient for full-body workouts, they focus too much on cardio there are dozens of rowing machines, elliptical trainers, treadmills, exercise bikes, etc. These machines mostly target cardiovascular. Another special thing about the gym is that it has a lot of abs training machines. I have to say that if you like doing cardio and abs training then Planet Fitness is suitable, this gym is definitely not for one who wants to build muscles. The price for a full membership card (the black card) is 30 dollars, which is like half of my current gym, my current gym is 79 dollars by the way. But I will stick with this current gym because I can bike to the gym for 2 kilometers or 11 minutes, instead of Planet Fitness for 4 kilometers. So I am probably still with the current gym for now, and it’s not really about the money but for the enjoyment.
