Can Tho

It’s about 6.30 AM in Can Tho. I was woken up by a middle-aged man who knocked on my door by mistake. I was being silent for 10 seconds after he explained to me that he wasn’t intending to do that, it was a mistake, but being there 10 seconds just to show him how frustrated I was without saying a single word, but then I said “fine”, then closed the door, and then he left. But the good thing is that the morning is beautiful here, the Can Tho river is beautiful, and the early morning sun has great energy. My windows overlook the river, despite it being small, but I fully appreciate it.

I didn’t have a good day yesterday, though. The trip was smooth, but then I again just overspent on food, which I don’t like, at the Crystal Jade in Vincom Xuân Khánh. I didn’t say it’s bad because of the location or the city, it’s a franchise, but the price seems to have gone up, and the taste is not there, and the money value just isn’t worth it. I would just stick with anything on the street rather. Here I came to Can Tho alone, but I was greeted by a friend whom I had been talking to for quite a long time. Other than that, the trip was smooth, it was 5 hours trip from Thu Duc city (HCMC) to Can Tho and half of time I was having good nap, the lying chair is good and keep my back and butt less painful (or even no pain at all), arriving at Can Tho I feel fresh and the weather was cool due to the rain.

The city has wide streets, which was my impression during my trip moving from the central bus station to the Wink hotel. The friend was giving me a ride, but before we went back to our own home, we had a cup of tea and bubble tea at a coffee shop, I had a quick snack, we went for a short walk around Vincom, I visit the California gym to recover my phone number, then we had dinner at Jade Crystal then she gave me a ride to my hotel. Frankly, I do feel some difficulty in having a conversation with her, she is a nice lady, I appreciate her kindness, we had many talks before, but we are not truly “in” together in terms of intimacy, I believe she is a good friend who really helping me to have a good stay in Can Tho. Of course, in the following days forward, I will mostly be alone on my exploration (which, based on both of our plans, we’re likely to be apart during weekdays). I had some talks with my parents yesterday too on important matters, although we haven’t agreed on anything yet, but at least we have made a framework for my future plan. These are matters to me since it’s really defining where I live for a long time. I began to sleep around at 3 AM.

Nevertheless, I love the atmosphere here, my first 12 hours were perfect in many senses: the trip was peaceful, comfortable, and the weather was cool, slightly rainy, but I love it, and people are kind and nice. And the coffee shop was really cheap as well. I’m not sure what to expect in the next 6 days of stay and if I have any plan of writing the new blog post about this city, but: Good morning, Can Tho.
